The Rugloski family

Primary Ministry Focus:

  1. To equip and encourage pastors and church leaders who can come to Thailand for training, and also to send teams into surrounding regions to train and strengthen church leaders who will then bring the gospel to the nearby unreached people groups.
  2. To provide an introduction to cross-cultural ministries for interns and short-term mission groups who come to serve alongside experienced cross-cultural workers.
  3. To serve and support the ministry through interns and short-term teams to help end child sex slavery through prevention.

Major Challenges:

  1. We have sold our land surveying business (praise the Lord!), and now need the Lord to grow our ministry support team, to provide abundant prayer support and meet our monthly financial needs.
  2. We need the Lord to send the right family to rent our main house by May 2018 when we plan to depart. The renters will share our property with a Russian Lutheran pastor and his wife, who will be renting our guest house.
  3. With the ministry support team and renters in place, we’ll need the Lord’s help to obtain the proper visas to serve in Thailand. Lord willing, we plan to depart for Thailand at the end of our children’s school year, May 2018.

Prayer Focus:

  1. PRAISE the Lord for selling our business and providing a smooth transition for the new owner.
  2. PRAISE the Lord for providing an apartment for Carol’s mother to live near friends in Boerne, Texas.
  3. PRAISE the Lord for growing our entire family in his grace through this new venture he has called us to.
  4. PRAY the Lord will provide for us a faithful prayer and ministry support team.
  5. PRAY the Lord will orchestrate current and future training opportunities in SE Asia.
  6. PRAY the Lord will direct and provide for each of our adult children remaining in the U.S.
  7. PRAY the Lord will send us to Thailand by May 2018.

Our Story:

God put a desire to serve cross-culturally in Rob's heart during the first week of his new life in Jesus Christ. After turning from a life of selfish pursuits, Rob found himself in Ensenada, Mexico, working at a Christian camp and serving with a local church in their VBS outreach. From that time on, he knew God wanted him to serve overseas. Carol sensed a call to serve God full-time as a teenager and entered Bible college to prepare for whatever the Lord would have in store for her. She was born in Japan to missionary parents and has always had a love for the Asian people.

Leaving a full tuition scholarship in engineering at Arizona State University, Rob enrolled at Arizona College of the Bible, where he had the opportunity to travel with a team to Singapore and Malaysia for several months. While at ACB, he met his lovely wife Carol, and married her a year and a half later. Both Carol and Rob graduated from ACB with a cross-cultural studies degree. Their aim was to plant churches among unreached/least reached peoples. Sensing the need for further training, Rob completed his M. Div degree at the Master's Seminary in California. The Rugloskis returned to the Phoenix area for some time, to clarify some theological positions before pursuing any full-time ministry.

Over the course of the next 18 years, the Lord blessed Rob and Carol with eight children. The Rugloskis have always been involved in ministry in some capacity and have taken several trips to Mexico to assist friends serving there. In 2012, Rob accompanied a friend to Thailand on an exploratory trip with the organization To Every Tribe Ministries, to see how the Lord was working in Thailand, and how this ministry might expand their work. After visiting many people involved in a variety of ministries, Rob came back from that trip with a strong sense that God was leading him also to a work in Thailand.

Out of a continued longing to serve in SE Asia, Rob contacted Entrust. After several months of prayer and dialogue, Rob was invited in 2014 to join the Chiang Mai team to help establish the Thailand training center.
