Training Leaders
For those of us in the West, information and knowledge abounds. We attend worship and hear teaching from God’s word. We join Bible studies and community groups.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
This demonstrates an intentionality in passing along knowledge. If we simply ingest biblical teaching and training but don’t pass it on to our children and future generations, we’ve missed the point. We see this modeled in 2 Timothy 2:2.
Paul pours his life, spiritual learnings and experiences into Timothy.
Timothy emulates Paul. He finds reliable men and women in whom to invest what he is learning.
Those men and women, chosen because they’re able and willing to teach others, do just that.
The numbers grow. People keep learning and passing on what it means to live a redeemed life with Jesus.
It’s infectious.
It’s unstoppable.
It’s powered by the Holy Spirit and follows Jesus’ example.
It’s Entrust’s ministry model.
As God leads, we come alongside “Timothys” worldwide, our methodologies varying from place to place, culture to culture. It starts in our own homes, and we take it to the world, together.
